曲靖师范学院
曲靖师范学院地处我国第三大河珠江的发源地、云南省第二大城市、爨文化的故乡、“全国十佳宜居城市”——曲靖市。学校办学历史最早可追溯至1907年开办的“师范传习所”,1912年设置云南省立第三师范学校,1956年更名为曲靖师范学校,1977年招收昆明师范学院曲靖普通(本科)班,1978年成立曲靖师范专科学校(1993年更名为曲靖师范高等专科学校),1984年建立曲靖教育学院。2000年3月经教育部批准,曲靖师范高等专科学校、曲靖教育学院、曲靖师范学校合并组建曲靖师范学院。2007年6月,学校以“良好”的成绩通过了教育部本科教学工作水平评估。2010年,成为云南省优质生源高校。2011年12月、2015年2月连续被中央文明委命名表彰为“全国文明单位”。
学校弘扬“苦乐交融育英才,百年树人铸精魂”的曲师精神,坚持“育人是办学第一使命,教师是办学第一资源,教学是教师第一天职,发展是办学第一要务”的办学理念,践行“刚正博爱,睿智笃行”的校训,形成了“民主和谐,求是创新”的校风,为地方经济和社会发展培养各类高级应用人才4万余人,历届校友中,涌现出了在中国革命和建设中做出贡献的徐文烈将军、《在太行山上》的词作者桂涛声、抗日名将王甲本;“全国三八红旗手”、“全国援藏教育先进个人”、党的十八大代表胡艳,“云南省教育风云人物”和“云南省百优校长”郭跨存,2008年“全国优秀大学生援教教师”和“2009年度云南教育风云人物”梁春林等大批优秀人才。学校赢得了“千里珠江,源头起航;园丁摇篮,桃李芬芳”的美好赞誉,已发展成为曲靖教育发展的龙头、合格师资培养的重要基地、先进文化建设的重要窗口。
学校现有校本部、古城和环东三个校区,占地总面积1399.43亩。校舍面积30.21万平方米;图书馆馆藏文献总量近180万册;固定资产总值6.89亿元,其中教学科研仪器设备总值8797.38万元。2004年9月建成占地1158亩,充满浓郁现代大学气息的校本部,环境优美,绿化面积占62.4%。
学校设有18个教学单位,4个教辅机构,33个研究机构(含4个校级独立研究机构),1个国家级特色建设专业,有7个省级重点学科,其中3个硕士学位授权立项建设学科,2个优势特色重点学科,2个已挂牌二类重点学科。2个省级重点专业,3个省级特色专业,9门省级精品课程,3个省级实验教学示范中心,3个省级高校重点建设实验室,有国家体育总局研究基地1个,省哲学社会科学重点研究基地1个,省哲学社会科学创新团队2个,高校科技创新团队1个,5个省级教学团队,2个省级人才培养模式创新实验示范区;设有53个全日制本科专业,17个高职高专专业,60个成人教育专业。专业涉及经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学8大学科门类。面向全国26个省(市、区)招生,现有全日制本专科在校生近15000人,另有函授、电大、网络教育在籍学生一万余人。
学校现有在职教职员工983人,其中专任教师726人,正高职称教师78人,副高职称教师247人,高级职称教师占到专兼职教师的44.7%。专任教师中有博士学位的72人,在读40人,硕博教师占专兼职教师79%以上。专任教师中有49位受聘担任上海师大、云大和云师大硕士生导师。教师中有享受国务院特殊津贴专家7人,全国优秀教师1人,享受省政府特殊津贴、省各类专业技术人才专家14人,云南省高校“教学名师”6人,云南省级名师工作室3个,长年聘任校外兼职教授150人,外籍教师13人。初步形成了一支符合本科教学要求,具有较高思想业务素质的教师队伍。
学校注重对学生创新精神、实践能力和就业竞争力的培养。学生在“挑战杯”全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛、全国大学生数学建模竞赛、全国大学生艺术展演比赛等各类省级以上比赛中获奖700余项。大学生“三下乡”社会实践活动,连续多年受到团中央、团省委表彰。2004年至2014年,毕业生连续十一年以93%以上的就业率名列全省高校前茅,受到省教育厅的表彰。
2000年以来,学校共承担各类科研项目1266项,其中独立主持国家社会科学基金资助项目29项,独立主持和联合承担国家自然科学基金项目10项,国家艺术基金项3项,独立主持教育部等各类项目29项,省级各类项目169项,省教育厅各类项目320项,曲靖市各类项目45项,校级各类项目570项,横向课题91项;出版专著、编著、艺术作品集和主编教材240部,发表论文7760余篇;获得省、部级各类优秀成果奖78项,省部级以上各类教育教学奖111项,曲靖市社会科学优秀成果奖140项,曲靖市文学艺术创作政府奖24项。
学校积极开展国际交流与合作。成立了“云南省出国留学预备学院曲靖分院”,启动了与泰国东方大学、美国宾州曼斯菲尔德大学、新西兰商学院和林肯大学联合招收“1+3”、“1+2+1”等多种出国留学人才培养项目;与英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰、意大利、韩国、老挝、泰国、印度和台湾等国家和地区的23所高校和教育管理集团,以及教育服务机构建立了稳定的交流合作关系,深入开展教师互访、师生交流、学生留学和学生海外带薪实习等项目,稳步、高效地推进了学校的教育国际化进程。

Qujing Normal University:A Brief Introduction
Qujing Normal University (QJNU) is located in Qujing city, the second largest city in Yunnan province, the hometown of the Cuan culture, and one of the Top 10 National Residence-Friendly Cities in China, and where the Pearl River, which is the third longest river in China, originates. The history of QJNU can be traced back to 1907 when a Teachers Training Institute was founded. In 1912, the Third Provincial Teachers School of Yunnan was established and in 1956, the school was renamed Qujing Teachers School. In 1977, the school began to enroll undergraduate students in collaboration with Kunming Normal College. In 1978, Qujing Junior Teachers College was established. In 1993, the college was renamed Qujing Senior Teachers College. In 1984, Qujing College of Education was established. In March 2000, the former three schools of Qujing Senior Teachers College, Qujing College of Education and Qujing Teachers School were merged into QJNU. In June 2007, QJNU received a B rating in the undergraduate education accreditation by the national Ministry of Education, and since 2010, the university has become one of the key universities enrolling high-quality students in Yunnan province. In December 2011, QJNU was awarded the prize of A National Civilized Unit by the Central Committee of Civilization Construction in China.
Carrying forward the school spirit of cultivating talents with joys and hardships and fostering a noble soul through persistent efforts and adhering to the university-running philosophy of cultivating talents as its first mission, qualified teachers as its prime resources, teaching and instruction as the teachers’ bounden duty and development as its foremost task, the university implements the motto of integrity, benevolence, wisdom and practice, and has nurtured the tradition of democracy, harmony, realism and innovation. It has made great contributions to the regional economic and social development of Qujing city and Yunnan province by cultivating 40,000-odd advanced and practical talents in the past decades. Among its large number of well-known alumni, to name only a few, were General Xu Wenlie, who contributed a great deal to the national revolution and construction cause, Mr. Gui Taosheng, music composer of the well-known song On Mount Taihang, and Mr. Wang Jiaben, the renowned military general in the anti-Japanese war. In recent years, Hu Yan (female) has won the titles of “A National Red-Banner Pacesetter” and “A National Outstanding Individual in Aiding Tibet in Education” and was chosen as one of the deputies in Yunnan province for the 18th CPC Party Congress. Mr. Guo Kuacun has won the titles of “Man of the Hour for Education in Yunnan” and “A Hundred Well-known Principals in Yunnan.” Mr. Liang Chunling won the titles of “National Outstanding College Students Aiding Education” in 2008 and “Man of the Hour for Education in Yunnan” in 2009. QJNU has won the notable reputation of commencing from the source of the long Pearl River and being the cradle for thousands of teachers and instructors. Now it has become a leading figure in the educational development cause, an important base for cultivating qualified teachers and a bright window for the construction of advanced culture in Qujing city.
QJNU has three campuses: the Main Campus, Gucheng Campus and Huandong Campus. It covers a total area of 1399.43 mu (about 200 acres), with a schoolhouse floor space of 302.1 thousand sq m; a high-standard library stocked with over 1.8 million volumes of books; the fixed assets total 689 million Yuan RMB, of which the teaching and scientific research-related equipment and facilities stand at 87.9738 million Yuan RMB. The Main Campus (the new campus), which was built in September 2004 and totals an area of 1158 mu (191 acres), contains all the elements of a modern university and is environment-friendly with a green space accounting for 62.4% of the total.
At present, QJNU has 18 teaching units, 4 teaching-supporting institutions and 33 research institutes (including 4 exclusive school-level research institutes). QJNU provides 1 national-level specially-featured undergraduate program (major), 7 provincial-level key disciplines and 3 of which are provincial key construction disciplines for master degree programs; 2 are privileged provincial key specialties; and 2 are authorized Title II key disciplines. Besides, the university also offers 2 provincial key undergraduate majors, 3 provincial specially-featured programs, 9 provincial-level excellent courses, 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial demonstration centers for innovative talents cultivation, 3 provincial key construction laboratories for higher education, and 1 research base for the State Bureau of Physical Culture Administration, 1 provincial key research base of philosophy and social sciences, 2 innovative teaching teams for philosophy and social sciences, 1 innovative team for scientific and technological research, 5 provincial teaching teams, and 2 provincial-level innovative and experimental demonstration centers for the modes of talents cultivation. Now QJNU offers 53 undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs, 17 specialties of vocational and professional training, and 60 specialties for adult education. The bachelor’s degree programs cover 8 major disciplines including economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, natural science, engineering and management. Enrolling students from China’s 26 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), QJNU has nearly 15,000 full-time students and another 10,000-odd students of correspondence, TV and online education.
QJNU has a faculty and staff team of 983 members, among whom 726 are full-time instructors. 78 of them are full professors and 247 are associate professors, taking a rate of 44.7% of the total full-time teachers. Of its large contingent of teachers, 72 have got their Ph D degrees (40 of them are still doing their Ph D study), along with the MA/MS degree holders, accounting for 79% of the total. 49 of them are MA/MS supervisors of Shanghai Normal University, Yunnan University and Yunnan Normal University; 7 of them enjoy special expert allowance granted by the State Council; 1 is titled the National Outstanding Teacher; 14 are rated as provincial distinguished experts and are granted special expert allowance by the provincial government; 6 are titled Distinguished Teachers of Yunnan province for higher education. In addition, QJNU has 3 Workshops for Distinguished Teachers, and it has invited 150 visiting and part-time professors and 13 foreign experts to work on campus annually. The faculty and staff team, with a highly professional teaching competence, can satisfactorily meet the demands of undergraduate education.
QJNU has been laying special emphasis on cultivating the innovative spirits, practical competence and employability skills of the students, and the students have made dazzling achievements and won over 700 prizes in a variety of national and provincial competitions such as the “Challenge Cup” National Academic and Scientific Works Competition for College Students, the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students and the National Fine Arts Exhibitions Competition for College Students. The University has also won many awards from the Central and Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League for its “Three Sends to the Countryside” programs consecutively in the past years. The employment rate of the undergraduate students is over 93%, ranking among the top in Yunnan province from the year 2004 to 2014 and it has won many awards from Yunnan provincial department of education.
Since 2000, the university has undertaken over 1266 scientific research projects in various fields, among which 29 are National Social Science Fund Projects solely conducted by its own faculty members; 10 are National Natural Science Fund Projects solely or jointly conducted; 3 are National Art Fund projects; 29 are solely-conducted projects funded by the national Ministry of Education and others; 169 are funded by various provincial-level departments; 320 are funded by the provincial department of education; 45 are funded by various departments of Qujing city; 570 are funded by the university itself, and 91 are horizontal research projects. The faculty and staff members have published over 240 monographs, compilation works, collections of fine arts and textbooks and over 7760 research papers. Besides, the university has won 78 prizes for its outstanding achievements in various fields in Yunnan, 111 prizes for teaching of various realms at provincial or national level and above, 140 prizes for outstanding achievements in social science research in Qujing and 24 prizes for literature and fine art works from Qujing City People’s Government.
QJNU has been actively carrying out international exchange and cooperation. It has set up the Qujing Branch of the Preparatory School for Study Overseas in Yunnan and commenced such joint talents cultivation programs as “1+3”, “1+2+1” etc. with Burapha University in Thailand, Mansfield University of Pennsylvania in the USA and New Zealand College of Business and Lincoln University. QJNU has established stable and friendly relations with 23 foreign universities and educational organizations including those from the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, South Korea, the Laos, Thailand, India and Taiwan. Faculty and student exchange programs as well as the study-abroad and overseas paid internship projects are collaboratively and comprehensively carried out, and the progress of internationalization of the university is very effectively on the way.
While entering the 13th Five-year plan, QJNU will guide its overall progress by the five notions of development (innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared by all), and stick to the regional, normal and instructional characteristics of the university, and take the road of internal development to greatly improve its level and quality of running schools. By laying special emphasis on the coverage of undergraduate programs, the construction of distinguished disciplines, the level of internationalization, the local impact for the regional and social development and its rate of contribution, the university is doing its utmost to attain the ultimate goal of building into a regional, applied and high-level university with outstanding features through internal, characteristic, transformational and innovative development.
